Hurawalhi

Luxury in Lhaviyani

Think of the Maldives and what do you see, infinite oceans lapping the shores, the soothing swaying of palm trees, shallow lagoons and vivid coral reefs, ok, maybe a cocktail or three! Now picture Hurawalhi Maldives and open your eyes further to a world where sandbank picnics, in-villa floating breakfasts, snorkeling with turtles and dining underwater, yes really, all exist.

Earlier this year we had the pleasure of staying at the 5* Hurawalhi Resort and Spa, located in the Lhaviyani Atoll a mere 45 minutes seaplane journey from Malé.

Staying in one of the resorts 90 Adult-only villas, our uber luxurious water-pool villa had a view that extended beyond the decking to our private pool and onto the ocean. Morning visits from a family of sharks while you sip on complimentary champagne simply takes your breath away, as does the temperature of the ocean!

The worlds largest all-glass 5.8 Undersea restaurant is undeniably the main attraction on Hurawalhi island, their multi-course tasting extravaganza is not to be missed, not to mention the chance to dine under the sea.

The romance is endless at Hurawalhi and what better way to start the day than with an in-villa breakfast complete with champagne. Indulge in a private sandbank picnic for lunch topped off with a dusk-to-night candle lit beach dinner, just dreamy.

If the active life is more your thing, Hurawahli offers complimentary kayaking daily to all staying guests and snorkeling equipment to use at your leisure. With families of sting rays and an abundance of rainbow-coloured fish making Lhaviyani Atoll home, it’s not hard to loose yourself under the sea.  Of course, Jet skiing, paddle boarding, scuba diving and more are all available for you water sport enthusiasts, as is joining in on the turtle diving excursion, 100% worth it!

With our time on the island coming to a close, the best way to finish your time on the island is by booking into the champagne pavilion bar. Sitting at the end of the water villa walkway, the only thing thats left to do is to sip on champagne, watch the skies turn pink, and just unwind… now, how long ’til you’re back d’ya think?
