Victorian House Hotel - A Fabulous Find.

If you fancy a short stay in the beautiful town of Grasmere then the Victorian House Hotel is ideal. You’d be right in thinking it’s a Victorian House converted into a charming B&B, with the addition of cottages and a Shepards hut to the rear. Breakfast and light snacks into the evening are served in the conservatory at the rear leading to a lush garden overlooking River Rothay. For those of you with children it is conveniently located next to a great park.

A trip to Grasmere isn’t complete without a visit to The Gingerbread Shop. You may have to queue but believed us the taste is worth the wait. A recipe that was first develop din 1854, it has been passed through the generations to still satisfy the crowds of people that visit, daily!

One night in Grasmere itself is enough but we could have stayed for longer at the hotel. After a full day exploring the town and surroundings, we retired to the conservatory with Mila asleep in the pram for a cheeseboard and wine. The perfect, and traditionally British, end to a day up hill and down dale.
