We spent 48 hours in the city of San Francisco, we jam-packed our schedule to see as much of what the city has to offer as possible and loved every second. From The Golden Gate Bridge, to steep streets and view over Alcatraz. This is a city bursting with culture and experiences. Here is our itinerary and top tips for making the most of 48 hours.
We stayed at 3 hotels in 3 nights but only had 48hour in the city
It was great to stay in 3 different areas but we would recommend all of these hotels for the entirety of your stay.
First up: Four Seasons San Francisco. Ideal location, incredible rooms and amenities.
Second: 1 Hotel San Francisco. Situated opposite the stunning Oakland Bay Bridge with sustainable and green initatives at the forefront of their ethos.
Third : Fairmont San Francisco. Globally renowned for not only the incredible hotel it is but for the amount of films it has been featured in.
Day 1
Aim to see :
Russian hill area
Cable cars - up and down Hyde Street
Alcatraz - view of Alcatraz from tthe top of Lombard street
Lombard street - 8 hairpin turn road
Hyde Street - a beautiful very ‘San Francisco as we imagine it’ street
2 other streets we didn’t know about until in the area that are worth noting and great insta-photo spots are:
Hyde and Filbert Street
Hyde and Green Street
Next : Headed for some green space for Mila to run around and to tick off another iconic street
Alamo park
Painted ladies
Next : It was down to the water for dinner
Fisherman’s Wharf
Food - Boudins
Day 2
Aim to see :
Oakland Bay Bridge
More iconic streets inc. 16th street tiled stairs
Haight - Ashbury (The epicentre for hippie chic)
The Unmistakeable Golden Gate Bridge
Golden Gate views : Battery East parking view point and Battery Spencer view point
