Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi

As residents of Dubai a staycation in the neighbouring emirate Abu Dhabi is always a welcomed retreat, especially when it involves a stay at the impeccable Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas. From the moment you pull up to the concierge you are greeted as friends and welcomed as guests. With our bags taken care of we were led into an impressive lobby. Tiered levels lead your eye to full width windows leading out onto the stunning central pool; a pool synonymous with the hotel. Large sculptures flow through the space only adding to the grandeur and spacious surroundings.

As we were guided to our room the amalgamation of old-world charm and new age culture throughout the hotel becomes apparent. Our ocean-view room felt like an island sanctuary. A home from home with its residential style features and cultural touches, with views extending over the grounds and onto the ocean. 

The impressive central pool is surrounded by immaculately manicured lawns, a stream of mini waterfalls and secluded areas cornered off by palm trees providing elusive private sunbathing decks, perfect for relaxing and reading.

For those who prefer the beach, there are two jetty’s leading down to the pristine shores of Saadiyat Beach. Private cabanas and water activities make for a day full of relaxation or adventure, or the best of both.

The hotel comprises of 5 restaurants and cafes offering both traditional and international cuisine. The hotel also offers a free shuttle bus for those who wish to explore the trendy night spots and cultural districts of the capital.

After a peaceful night we headed down for breakfast at The Cafe, a spread of Middle Eastern specialities fused with a selection of international dishes. Opting for breakfast alfresco we were seated next to the main pool, a beautiful setting to enjoy our morning coffee.

A late check-out of 6pm gave us all day to indulge in the hotel amenities and unwind by the pool. We are always blown away by the service and attention-to-detail at Park Hyatt hotels, and Abu Dhabi’s Award-Winning Hotel and Villas didn’t disappoint. Seems we’ll be venturing into our neighbouring emirate more frequently, that’s for sure.
