Koh Samui

48 hours in Koh Samui

As one of the most accessible islands for a long weekend stop over, Koh Samui’s popularity has grown and grown. Whether you are seeking a month long stay in beach front bungalows or a luxury layover in one of the plentiful 5* resorts. Koh Samui is fast becoming a must see island, appealing to all types of travellers from families to party goers, those seeking adventure and those a more relaxed vibe. With new restaurants and beach clubs popping up, the islands famous landmarks becoming ever more popular and the white sand beaches more alluring, I think it will be a while before the island’s tourism slows down. How to get to Koh Samui.

Over lap Stone

Not super easy to find but worth a visit for the view. Once you have parked your bike at the top of the hill in the signposted Over Lap Stone parking, there is a short walk through someone’s house, you have to pass through their garden to reach the stone. Tip: if you have a drone highly recommend flying from here so you can see what’s behind you too!

Lipa noi beach

The quietest and most beautiful beach on the island in our opinion. Home to Nikki Beach and Lipa Lodge where we stayed, recommend staying here too, if nothing else they have a pool on the beach directly in front of the sunset.

Na Mueang waterfall

Na Mueang has 2 waterfalls, both beautiful. Na Mueang Waterfall 2 is a much harder hike but the pool and views make up for it. Tip: if you get there before 8am the staff aren’t working yet so parking and admission is FREE!

Palm trees

Koh Samui is probably best known for its long, tall palm trees. There are plenty of spots around the island to take photos but the best we found is in the south - Kee Ree Mas road leads you to hundreds.

Chaweng Beach

The most popular area in Koh Samui. Found in the North-East of the island. The white sandy shores and blue waters are beautiful but become very crowded during the day.

The Art Club

Unfortunately didn’t have much time to explore the food on the island but our favourite and a definite MUST VISIT is The Art Club. A vegan and environmentally friendly cafe with the best homemade brownies you will ever taste. Take our word for it.
