Rice fields

Jatiluwih rice field

Further north than its more popular Tegalalang fields. Entrance is 40,000pp so not the cheapest however walking here in-between the rice fields is something not to be missed. Good all day long as the fields are endless you can always find a photo spot and just enjoy walking in the Bali countryside.

Telgalalng rice fields

Perhaps the most famous spot in all of Ubud, best to arrive here for sunrise as you get the best light and its quiet. Come 9am when the tourist spots (swings, sit-in baskets, cycling zip-lines…) open then it is a tourist trap. Entrance is FREE!

Other attractions

Water temple

There are three main water temples in Ubud; Ubud Water Palace, Saraswati Temple and perhaps the most famous for its holy water fountain you can bathe in, Tirta Empul Temple.

Monkey forest

Entrance is 80,000pp and includes free parking for bikes and cars. The monkey forest take around 1-2 hours to walk around depending on how quickly you do it. The monkeys are relatively friendly and keep themselves to themselves. Just make sure you don’t have any food on you or loose items such as sunglasses or water bottle as they will grab /these and you have no chance of getting them back! If they do jump on you they will quickly jump off again, just don’t jump or scream as they won’t hurt you.
